Now that we have a handle on how we are going to bring power to the Tailgate, we need to define the source that will deliver our TV Programming. The choice is simple here and it is Satellite TV. Publicly available Wi-Fi networks do not exist at most venues and Cellular Wi-Fi is not an option as it simply cannot support the reliable connectivity you need due to the Gameday demands placed on the network by the massive increase in number of users.

Utilizing a Satellite Provider:

Satellite TV is by far the best option available today for securing TV programming at your Tailgate. Satellite Service is simple to set up and there are pay as you go provider plans which means you only pay for the months you need the service and cancel when your season comes
to an end.

What you need for Satellite Service:

Service Provider: Dish Network or Direct TV are your options. Dish has a pay as you go option which works perfect for Tailgaters. Important Note If you already use one of these providers for your home TV service, check with them before signing up for new service and you may save big. For example, I know Dish will allow you to simply “rent” another receiver for $10 a month and you get access to the same package you have currently at your home.

Portable Satellite Antenna: These are specific to the Satellite Provider you choose so make sure you are buying an Antenna that is matched to your Service Provider. Also, unless you are a distant relative of Albert Einstein, make sure that you buy an automated antenna unit. These automated units automatically configure for U.S. satellite service taking all the mathematics
and guesswork out of your setup.

Satellite Receiver: The Satellite Receiver is the brains that takes the signal from your
Antenna and processes it through to the TV. There are two ways to obtain your receiver: 1) Directly from your Service Provider at time of setup or
2) Purchase as part of a bundled package from the retailer that you source your Antenna from. There are bundles available that provide everything you need to setup your Satellite Service: Antenna, Receiver, Coax Cable
